Yawgmoth, Thran Physician Roleplay | MTG ASMR (Curing You Of Your Phthisis)
Here’s a #MTG ASMR roleplay of the original ineffable monster from the Magic: The Gathering Universe – but when he was more of a metaphorical one, rather than a giant, literal monster and father of the machines.
Say what you will about the card itself (what do you think about proliferate as a mechanic?), but the artwork on ‘Yawgmoth, Thran Physician’ is stellar and, tbh, the main influence behind making this Yawgmoth roleplay all together. Early Magic seems to be littered with flawed, weak men who become eugenicists, which makes me wonder what Richard Garfield and the team were smoking (or plotting…), but @Spice8Rack did a very good video examining the lore of it all and the in-world theology and praxis behind these bizarre and problematic Thranian beliefs… you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/U6LnVOV1SX8?si=xM7rhukxXLiPEOdx
Otherwise, this video has marginally less sinister intent; it’s basically an ASMR doctor roleplay with Phyrexian livery. In it, Doc Yawg will attempt to ‘cure’ your illness (phthisis) using unconventional means… Without babbling too much, the Greek letter Phi relates to the golden ratio, which is the perfect ratio, and therefore involves ‘compleating’ you – yeah, spelt the old school way. So he’ll ‘unite’ you with more of the disease to cure you, sort of like an aggressive vaccine that turns you into… something else. But hopefully the surgery sounds, follow the essence probe, and ceremonial wrapping will help you relax! So, enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses – even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
Disclaimer: This video is intended for relaxation. Any views, opinions, or advice expressed is purely for the purpose of entertainment, and to induce tingles through ASMR. These videos are not a substitute for traditional medicine, therapy, or any other professional medium, and should not be treated as such! Take all the advice with a pinch of salt, and certainly don’t take it to heart. That being said, please enjoy them, benefit from them, and hopefully get those warm, tingly feelings. Oh, and it’s not for kids.
