There is scholarly debate as to whether courtly love (yes, I have miswritten this as Courtney Love every single time) as we recognise it even existed, or if it was simply a French literary idyll; well, here is video evidence that it didn’t. This video evidence takes the form of an ASMR knight roleplay where a hapless – and perhaps slightly disturbing – ‘young’ knight errant pledges his undying love for you, all soft spoken (cringey song with nonnies included), delicate, and somewhat poetic… but with an underlying unease.
