YouTube must've changed the way videos are uploaded because from now on my videos upload SO QUICKLY it's the BEST ;') Literally within 60 seconds, a 30 minute video uploads. My internet is still awful too. whazzup, lemme know what you guys are up to this week. I’ve been working out and stretching everyday to get my fitness back for figure skating, I am so weak. I don’t feel strong enough for triples yet and I want to start attempting them very very soon. I upgraded my blades to gold seal on Friday with some money I had saved, I managed to get them from a supplier too so got a super great price, had an awful experience on the ice because I forgot to get them sharpened. I overestimated the factory sharpening, my edges felt sharp but I realised as soon as I stepped on the ice, there was no hollow to my blade so it wouldn’t grip the ice, completely my fault. They were too blunt for me to even skate away from the barrier, I was skidding all over the place, there was no chance I was going to try and skate with those. One of my coaches is sharpening them atm. Anyway, I have some more skate sessions planned this week thankfully, just so sad that I wasted a session. I’m trying to train my core for 2A at the moment, as of last week, I have all of my double jumps back, all clean landings. I even got my combination back. I basically never fall on double jumps, they’re not the prettiest though with my current fitness, my double lutz is a bit iffy, I was hoping to fix it next session and studied a bunch of videos of aliona kostornaia’s 2Lz, but I’m not sure I’ll be ready to jump in new blades yet. I was using coronation ace prior to gold seals, which was honestly super stupid of me, the blades are shorter, toepick is smaller, I should’ve upgraded a long time ago, but I’m sure it won’t take me too long to get used to, they felt pretty similar. Also excuse this next paragraph, I’m gonna rant lol: There’s a coach at the rink I cannot stand at the moment, she is so rude. She comes up to me and my sister to ask if we’ve paid for the session, we always do! She never asks anyone else, she acts like we’re criminals? She was threatening to close patch ice this other time because no coaches had lessons, despite 7 other girls showing up just for practice, it’s like she enjoys feeling like she’s got power over us. Last session, a bunch of other figure skaters were recording, my blades were blunt so I decided to record some of my sister’s spins for her in a corner where there weren’t people, we skate to another corner because it got slightly busy, this woman comes out of her lesson to have a go at us and condescendingly asks us if we asked for ‘permission to film’, ONLY US!! Then proceeds to tell us that we ‘can’t go all around the rink videoing’, I swear I just turned around and let her talk to my back. Why are some people like this genuinely? I go there to stay out of people’s way, and just practice. She has it out for me and my sister for some reason. Another time, she asked if we paid my coach for the previous private ice session, I said ‘Yes we did’, she started yapping and I was like ok whatever, was ignoring her because she was being super condescending again. Then she comes up to my COACH IN FRONT OF ME, and asks him if we paid him for practice for the previous session, I actually couldn’t believe it. Why did she even bother asking me? She ruins my mood every time I see her, and I honestly never have problems with anyone ;’) I wanna film my progress but I don’t want her coming up to me, she is the manager of patch ice cards at the rink now. I feel like me and my sister are so nice that people can just be blatantly rude to our faces because they know we’re kind & won’t be rude/confrontational back. Sick of it. Anyway, besides that I’ve been pretty good!! Hahahah.
